For a moment, we almost threw away our speech and replaced it with blue suede shoes.
Who would have thought, being invited to speak about Indigenous Business Month would begin with a room full of people, listening to the sweet tranquil sounds of Elvis Presley's Jailhouse Rock playing over the speakers.
But that's exactly how it began when Paul was invited to speak about Indigenous Business Month on the 25th of October at John Holland CPB Contractors Ghella Joint Venture (JCG) Toolbox talk.
Supported by Kara, Paul talked about the benefits of Indigenous-led businesses for economic growth, cultural preservation and community empowerment. Working with Indigenous businesses not only presents a positive fee for service, it often comes with many significant social impacts that benefit all sectors of the community.
In the crowded room, Paul only had five minutes to lay out all the important key points of supporting Indigenous organisations and urged attendees to support these businesses by prioritizing partnerships and sourcing from them whenever possible.
Mirri Mirri would like to thank John Holland CPB Contractors Ghella Joint Venture (JCG), for allowing our team to speak out about Aboriginal businesses.
