Central Coast students experience Ngiyani

What a way to start wrapping up the year! Jared and Bob visited students at Central Coast Sports College to deliver the Ngiyani program to students with disability and were met by a wall of enthusiasm and high energy.

Despite an overcast and windy day, the students eagerly participated in numerous cultural activities that support development in areas including personal interests, career aspirations and connection to culture. A favourite amongst the students was fire-making. Like the Darkinjung people before them, students got to experience creating fire using only a fire-drill, board and tinder. This activity allowed students to connect with Aboriginal culture, learn about the importance of teamwork and explore concepts including perseverance and persistence.

A big thank you to the school for hosting Mirri Mirri. A bigger thank you to the students for their amazing energy and we look forward to staying connected in the new year.
